I had the great pleasure of illustrating this bilingual story by Linda Elovitz Marshall for Lee and Low Books. It is about a little Guatemalan girl, Ixchell, who wants to find a way to help her mother with the age old tradition of weaving in order to help pay for her school supplies. Part of the proceeds from this book will go to help Mayan Hands, an organization of weavers in Guatemala. It is a Junior Library Guild Selection. Here is some more info from Lee and Low.
